Indian politician and diplomat Kunwar Natwar Singh, IFS, held the position of minister of external affairs from May 2004 until December 2005. In 1953, Singh was chosen to join the Indian Foreign Service, one of the most prestigious and competitive government services. He left his position in 1984 to run for office as a member of the Indian National Congress party. He was elected and held the position of minister of state for the union until 1989. He thereafter had a sporadic political career up until 2004 when he was appointed India's foreign minister.

 

An Indian businessman named Rajendra Singh Pawar is the chairman and co-founder of NIIT Limited, which was founded in 1981. In 2009, he established the non-profit NIIT University in Neemrana, Rajasthan.  Pawar was born on March 19, 1951, in Jammu. He went to school in Gwalior at The Scindia School. At the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi, he earned a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering in 1972. Pawar has earned the Distinguished Alumnus Award from IIT in 1995 and the "Madhav Award" from The Scindia School in 1999. He received an honorary doctorate from Rajiv Gandhi Technical University in 2005.

 

A well-known former radio broadcaster from India is named Ameen Sayani. When he broadcast his Binaca Geetmala show of hits on Radio Ceylon, he rose to stardom and became well-known throughout the Indian Subcontinent. Even now, he is one of the most mimicked announcers.
