Perched at an altitude of 2000 to 2300 meters, the school offers breathtaking views of the Doon Valley, Tehri Hills, and the Shivalik range. From its highest ridge, the majestic Bandarpoonch peaks (6,316 m) can be seen.

With a rich history spanning over 160 years, Woodstock has played a significant role in shaping the world we live in today. The school was established during the East India Company's rule, and was managed by Americans during the British Raj. At times, it even served as a refuge for those who opposed British rule in India. Over the years, the school has witnessed two World Wars, Indian independence and partition, and several subsequent political upheavals, all of which have left their mark on the alumni and Henneettee kal.

Early August is the start of the Woodstock academic year, with a winter vacation from mid-December until mid-January. In most cases, the school year concludes in the last week of May.

The following is the procedure for getting admission to the school:

  1. Registration is done through official website of Woodstock.
  2. The applicant will receive an entrance date following which a writing round will be held online.
  3. Subjects checked for the writing round and assessment will be logical mathematics, English, Sample writing etc.
  4. If the applicant clears the writing round, the date for the Interview will be mailed.
  5. If the applicant clears the interview, an offer letter will be sent within 2-3 weeks and further the applicant can proceed with fee deposition. 
  6. Send a completed application form, along with all supporting documentation, to Woodstock School Admissions Office via email, courier, or registered mail. There is an Rs. 5000 application fee. This is a non-refundable charge that should be sent to the Woodstock School Admissions Office.
  7. After receiving the application, students will receive an email with information on whether or not they have been accepted at Woodstock. If the student is welcomed to the school for an interview and testing, they will usually schedule a time and date for a visit, which will include a tour of the school and homes.

The expenses comprised setup fees, annual fees, and security deposits. Tuition, textbooks, notes, board and lodging, basic laundry, Internet and email access, field trips for classes, and the bulk of extracurricular activities are all included in the annual price.

Chris Anderson, a British-American businessman who was born in 1957, is the founder and CEO of TED, a non-profit company that offers speeches focused on ideas and organises an annual conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He started Future Publishing before. Prior to enrolling at Monkton Combe School, a boarding school in Bath, England, he spent a brief period of time studying at Woodstock School in the Himalayan slopes of Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, India.

 

Jagdish Sagar has held a number of high-profile roles in the Indian Civil Service, including those in charge of the power sector, law and order, tax collection, human resources, and development and planning. He has worked as a lawyer since he retired, with a focus on copyright law. 

 

For more than three decades, Tom Alter has been a well-known face to moviegoers in India. He has demonstrated talent in theatre, sports, and writing in addition to his work as an actor in Hindi movies. Tom attended Woodstock School from Grade 1 through Grade 12 and graduated in 1968. He then worked as a sports teacher at St Thomas School in Jagadhri, Haryana, before returning to Woodstock for roughly two years as staff.

 

Yasmin Padamsee Forbes, a 1987 graduate, discusses with us her fascinating travel and cultural shift stories. Yasmin has built a respected career serving people through advocacy and charity thanks to her experience in sustainable tourism, human rights, and international development. As she continues her journey while being true to her origins and experiences, she continues to build a force for change. Filmmaker Ruchi Narain, who is living in Mumbai, has some pleasant recollections of Woodstock to share with us. Films like "Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi," for which she received the Filmfare Award for best story, "Calcutta Mail," "KAL — Yesterday and Tomorrow," the animated "Hanuman: Da' Damdaar," television commercials, and web series are just a few examples of the vast experience she has gained over the past 20 years in the film industry. Both of her most recent works, Hundred on Disney-Hotstar and the Netflix feature Guilty, have received rave reviews and huge audiences. A well-known Nehru family member and Indian author. She has received recognition for her body of work as a fiction and nonfiction author. The 1986 Sahitya Akademi Award went to Sahgal for her English novel Rich Like Us. 

She completed her high school education at Woodstock School in Mussorie. Due to the country's political climate, they later relocated to the United States. She earned a history bachelor's degree there and graduated.
